The FREED story

Our journey has been anything but ordinary. We began this work with only 2 rules:

1 - We will never ask for money from any person but rely only on prayer to the Living God who answers.

2 - We will not use social media to promote this work.

One day,

Unaware of the slavery situation in the brick kilns of Paksitan, Gustavo ran into a story about the 4.1 million people who were indebted for life for small ammounts of money, sometimes borrowing $200 AUD and ending up with debts of $1,500 for the next 89 years. We read more on the subject and realised we needed to act. We were inspired by the testimony of George Muller who built orphanages and homed thousands of children 2 centuries ago fully reliant on prayer. never pleading with man for resources for his work. Adopting the same model or operation we began praying and connected with a friend of a friend, a Pakistani local who happened to be working in the very brick kilns as a traveling preacher. We connected and quickly after began our first rescue. We realised we needed a way to tell our story, so our children painted 2 rubbish bins that we purchased from the local recycling facility and we began knocking on our neighbours doors, telling them what we were doing and asking for their cans and bottles to invite them to participate in a practical way; our speech was “we dont come to ask for your money, we want your rubbish”. That quickly evolved into a weekly collection and a partnership with more than 10 restaurants and bars who would hold our bins and give us all their cans and bottles. A neighbour was so moved by this that he offered to volunteer every week with his truck to move the bins around and do the recycling work. We then continued sharing our story through this means and anywhere else we were welcomed to share it. This project has now grown to over 100 individuals set free from bonded slavery. over 5 women trained in sewing skills, 25 children receiving and education, one water facility fully operating daily proving clean water to more than 100 families near Lahore and multiple microbusinesses built for the rescued families.

Our story is their story, and it can be your story too. We would love to share about this great adventure to anyone who is open to listen.
